Differences between Switch 1 and 2?
The Switch 2 version includes mouse support using Joy-Cons and supports 4K resolution. Otherwise, the game content is completely the same between Switch 1 and 2!
Is there an upgrade pack?
No, there isn’t a traditional upgrade pack. Instead, we offer a discount of up to 100% for owners of Ultimate Sheep Raccoon on one Switch platform who want to get the game on the other.
In some countries, we couldn't do a 100% discount legally, and applied the next highest discount - typically 90-95% off.
Why are there two separate versions instead of an upgrade?
During development, we thought it would be better to have separate Switch 1 and Switch 2 versions for technical and marketing reasons.
Closer to launch, Nintendo recommended using an upgrade pack instead. However, switching to that approach would've required going through certification for Switch 1 first, followed by a separate certification process for Switch 2. And at that point, we didn’t have enough time to complete both processes before launch on Dec 9.
As a result, we launched with the separate versions and added owner discounts so players can access both versions without paying twice.
